Since 1999, Casting Crowns has been encouraging people to love God and love each other . It's all because of Jesus. We'll sing until the whole world hears.

Casting Crowns is not a typical contemporary Christian rock band. Every member of Casting Crowns is involved in local student ministry in and around the Altlanta, Georgia area. They're all ministers. Each song actually began as a Wednesday night message at a church for teenagers and their parents. Casting Crowns is a family focused ministry. Their songs are reaching the hearts of all ages young and old.

Casting Crowns Biography

The band was created in 1999 by Mark Hall. Mark was a youth director for a church in Florida. The band started out with Mark Hall as lead singer, Melodee DeVevo as the violinist and a pair of guitar players, Juan DeVevo and Hector Cervantes. In 2001, the band relocated to Georgia and added Chris Huffman on bass, Megan Garrett on keyboards and Andy Williams on drums. Andy Williams has left the group to pursue other ministry. A new drumer, Brian Scoggin, has replaced Andy and will his debut on this new album, Until The Whole World Hears.

Like most beginning groups, Casting Crowns released their first CDs independently. The music was manly for the locals in the Atlanta, Georgia area. That was until a copy of one CD was given to a country singer by the name of Sawyer Brown. Sawyer liked what he heard. This Christian band had a Pop / Rock style. Mark's lyrics were unique and powerful. Sawyer saw that Casting Crowns had great potential. He signed the band to recording contract with his own production company, Beach Street Records, a division of Reunion Records.

Their first main studio album, Casting Crowns, was co-produced by Steven Curtis Chapman. It did well in the Christian market and eventually went platinum. Their second album, Live from Atlanta, was released under the Reunion Records label in 2004. This project included a DVD of band member interviews and a music video.

In 2005, Casting Crowns gained popularity in both the secular and Christian music markets. Their album, Lifesongs reached the Top 10 on some of the pop charts. This helped drive the 2007 album, The Alter and the Door, to #2 on the Billboard charts. This was the album that gave the world the hit single, East to West. Casting Crowns was no longer just a local church group reaching students through music. It is now reaching the world.

Until The Whole World Hears

This new 12 song project is all about reaching out to the world in love, just as Jesus would. Casting Crowns encourages all Christians to be bold in sharing their faith. So many people are struggling in the world today. Some see no hope and no way out of life's daily trials. Casting Crowns explains the messages behind each song during their concerts. This life is all about a relationship with Jesus Christ. Casting Crowns hopes to continue sharing that message....... Until The Whole World Hears.
